Um, hello... Yeah, yeah -- it's been almost two months since I've added an entry. Yadda, yadda and all that. I've been mentally scribbling entries in fits of sporadic inspiration -- but I've not had the motivation to set them to HTML. Like that would've been such a chore for me. For lack of a kinder, gentler term...I was lazy. A lazy slug, I know. I have no excuse. Worse yet, I've continued to neglect Mind Diver. Yes, it languishes as I'm typing this screed. Yadda, yadda and all that. Meanwhile...I finally got a check for my Math Mentor work! It's not much, and unfortunately the funding hit a snag (read: I can't submit the next invoice just yet). I've also been (industriously!) writing bids and proposals for Web projects on guru.com and other freelance sites. I've actually gotten quite good at writing proposals. Now, if I can only reel in a decent contract... I've also been contacted (yes! someone actually called me!) by a staffing firm for creatives. I was told by the representative that this firm prefers to work with creatives who have talent, but have been ignored by the larger (aka "snobby") staffing firms. We'll see if anything lucrative comes of this. It's difficult for me to be positive and optimistic, though. I hate getting my hopes up, only to have them as quickly dashed.
